You must have pointed that out to me some time in the past, because I know I have read it before. I actually mentioned it to Nature of the beat before following your link, and when I was re-reading Zadie Smith’s article I realized, “this is the article I was talking about.”
Man, what a great article. I had forgotten almost all of it. It’s funny, because I was in program called “EfM” which is a theology class for lay people run out of the University of the South School of Theology. We read selections from Kierkegaard’s “Fear and Trembling” and during our discussion I kept saying that I had read an article about Joni Mitchell that explained Abraham’s sacrifice of Isaac better than we were doing, but really I just wanted to talk about Joni Mitchell.
